CHAPTER 5 - LOVE LETTERSSWEETER THAN CHOCOLATE

HELLO SWEETHEART Anonymous

The author of this 1945 love letter wished to remain anonymous.  Perhaps this is appropriate since it could have been written by any number of men shipped overseas during World War II.  Even though his wife received the letter over 50 years ago, it reflects the same yearning for home of men and women of today who are separated by the war on terrorism.

MY BUD, YOU WOULD HAVE JUST LOVED HIM  Lorna May "Chloe" Hulbert (Story told by Elaine Johnson)

Special friendships and connections are not always dictated by age.  This story portrays the mutual admiration between two women with nearly a 45-year age span between them.  One was beginning her journey as a young mother, and the other was filled with wisdom and humor that could only be acquired through years of living.  Numerous stories were shared.  You will read the most beautiful love letter that Chloe had written earlier to her husband Bud.

THE LITTLE RED RAMBLER Eva Gerdin Olson (Story shared by Joy Kuby)

A short letter tucked inside an anniversary card given to her husband Herman on their 71st wedding anniversary expressed the reflection of a lifetime together.  It may just bring a tear to your eye.

LOVING YOU, EMIL

The beautiful love story of Emil and Donna (from the Bride and Groom Story) is captured here through Emil's daily love letters.  Over 25 letters have been safely tucked away for the past 50 years.  Donna treasures each letter that tells a part of their story.  You will not be able to stop reading them.
